This week

I popped my @qvcbeauty 🍒 to record some #livewell content. Great crew and gorgeous glam by @frankiebennettmakeup . Managed not to leave with solar lights/garden furniture set/knife collection or ersatz stair master - but was tempted…

Decided to give my nails 💅 a break from gels so went to @swanky_london for an excellent mani with restorative @kurebazaar products. A week in and they haven’t chipped. And I think they look chic no? The waiting for them to dry tho… Realise I now have the attention span of a 2 year old on Kia-Ora.

3) Honed my golf skills @bearwoodlakes - To be clear I have no skills…

*Dina has been with her husband for 32 years. After repeatedly denying infidelity he finally admitted it when drunk. Now she says he’s being a total c*** and she can’t believe, after all this time together, she had ‘no idea who he was/is.’

She’s really struggling and asking how she gets her head around this.

⭐️ So many Rosie’s (too many??) in @femail for a piece on post 💔 dressing thanks to @reformation Divorce edit. The headline was ‘revenge’ (it is The Mail) but I prefer ‘rebirth’ as it keeps the energy focused on you rather than your ex. Thanks for the commission @charlottelikes & 📸 @lezliandrose

⭐️ Hanging out with my girls at @thebeaumontldn at Rosi restaurant. Led by Michelin starred @chef_lisa_goodwinallen it majors on British favourites (pies and John Dory fishfingers) but made chic and fun (you can make your own sundae 🍨🙌🏻). And the cocktails are killer. Plus just off Oxford St and is an oasis of sophistication!

⭐️ All the lols from Ab Fab. A true depiction of me pitching a feature 😂. Kathy Burke as editor blagging free car (‘but not a shit one’) is epic.

⭐️ @hellomag column with my love of all things Easter (daff season only time I permit myself to buy flowers in abundance) and featuring @deborahbrett gorgeous ceramics.

⭐️ Glam by @bethanyandersonmakeup . I’m here for it.

⭐️ Easter knitting atop a post box. No words necessary.

⭐️ I planted this magnolia (when it looked like a twig )and it is now glorious tree and brings me so much joy.

If you want winter ☀️and 🌊 with a relatively short flight then may I recommend the Canaries?

Yes there are still lots of boozy bars with laminated menus (blue lagoon pls) and stag dos but in amongst it there are pockets of chicness and also a new wellness tribe coming for the winter training which means improved sporting facilities.

We stayed at @hotelfariones in Lanzarote which I think was the first hotel on the island. It’s got an old school classiness about it.

Set on a gorgeous white sand beach it’s a world away from the tourist strip (which is fun to dip in and out of!)

Its food is excellent - high quality and v fresh with much of it coming from a nearby farm. The buffet breakfast and dinner was very civilised and delivered for everyone from those who want indulgence (fizz and pancakes for breakfast anyone?) to the yogurt and fresh fruit brigade (🙋🏻‍♀️)

Our room was fresh and modern with a balcony and a great sea view. There is a small spa with a beautifully designed thermal suite where you can while away few hours sauna/steaming and, for the brave, cold plunging. Be prepared this costs extra but as a guest you do get free entry into @centrodeportivofariones - a brilliant complex with a standout gym, olympic sized outdoor pool, classes and padel.

You can do a wine tasting excursion and there is an onsite shop which is a great place to potter.

Prayers answered and I made it to the Canaries 🌴☀️

Not the most flattering angle but here I am property chilling out.

I’m rubbish at resting. Think it’s a result of 00s culture that celebrated busyness and self improvement. One that saw being stressed as a badge of honour. Plus after years of working for myself I worry I’ll never get a gig again if I say no.

But I’m getting better. @jodieb_fitness tells me it’s vital to rest between reps when you are working out and and I’m also coming to understand that switching off is essential to recharge and not lose your 💩. Plus I think it makes you think more clearly and creatively when you do return to the real world.

Are you addicted to busy?

P.S. I still really like reading print magazines - so much more relaxing. Love @oonagh.brennan fashion in @redmagazine

KEEP SILENT and THINK OF THE KIDS and JUST GET OVER IT ALREADY and DON’T AIR YOUR DIRTY LINEN and STAY DIGNIFIED - all things told to @belleburden when she wrote about her husband suddenly and shockingly leaving their marriage in her new book Strangers.

After she discovered his affair (the woman’s husband rang her) he was at first remorseful then by the next day turned icy cold, said ‘a switch had flipped’ and that he wanted a divorce, she could have custody of the kids and he was leaving. Sudden, shocking, devastating.

@belleburden is from New York high society where generations of women have maintained a code of silence around such behaviour - and as a reserved, high achieving ‘good girl’ she shocked herself by her refusal to. But she wrote a (very good) book about it and by doing so has helped so many women feel less alone, less confused, less stigmatised.

@jenhatmaker also wrote a brilliant book Awake. She too thought she and her husband were happy. They were very religious and he was a devout Christian. So his infidelity and decision to leave his family was a total mind f*** to her. She writes beautifully about her healing journey. Like @belleburden with zero bitterness and with helpful advice on how to navigate it.

@saradavisondivorcecoach is someone who helped me so much in the early days of my break up and her new book is a manual for people in, or emerging from, toxic relationships. Those who have experienced mental or physical abuse - controlling, violent or damaging behaviour.

Even years on from my own 💔 I find reading about others experience helpful. Especially when the authors are wise, considered and insightful.

In my @hellomag I wrote about ‘runaway husbands’ a phenomenon author and counsellor Vikki Stark wrote about along with ‘Wife Abandonment syndrome.’ She talked about patterns of behaviour - coldness and cruelty - from previously kind and caring partners - once they decide to leave.

Anyone else transfixed by Katie Prices’s wedding??

Anyone else transfixed by Katie Prices’s wedding?? 🫣 Her showmance with Lee Andrews feels chaotic, desperate, tragic even.

I’ve got a lot of empathy for Katie though. My @hellomag column talks about on how easy it is to be hoodwinked by people on dating apps. Especially when you are feeling broken. When I was on them (6 or so years ago) there was fakery for sure (pics taken decades before, vague job titles like ‘investor’ or ‘entrepreneur’ and lots of fabricated cars and houses) but now with AI shysters can create pictures that look scarily real putting themselves with people they’ve never met, in places they’ve never been. Making themselves 30% better looking.

I also remember a few times being love bombed - someone taking about being in love with me before we’d even met, proposing marriage within weeks, creating a whole future together when he didn’t even know my middle name. Actually maybe not even my surname! Scarily easy to fall for that flattery, especially if you are Katie and your perception of reality is so warped.

GIRL’S WEEKEND - WELLNESS & WINE

24 Hours of joy with women I’ve known for 3 decades in the brilliant new hotel @staycrafted_ located just outside of Battle in Sussex.

It’s as welcoming as it is cool - set on a beautiful lake with saunas/hot tubs and cold plunges over looking it.

The interiors are inspiring, the food locally sourced and the staff super friendly.

It’s also v reasonably priced with double rooms from £200 ish. And that gives you access to padel/gym/walks/swimming pools. It was magnificent in bleak Jan so will be mega in that summer.

Very proud of my friend @ckroaming for creating such an impressive place - feel very lucky to be one of the first to visit.

We stayed at The Lake House which sleeps 10 comfortably and has gorgeous views of the water. It’s also 🐶 friendly.

P.S. They do cool workshops like aromatherapy blending - there is a pic of my friend @vivieb73 mixing up her peace oil

If these are your sentiments I understand entirely, but for those of you who haven’t unfollowed me here I am in @youmagazine baring my belly saying that (if you want to) you can get a honed midriff in midlife.

In the feature a piece I talk about how I toned up my tummy (➡️ to the end to see my ‘before’). You can read it by clicking the link in my bio but here are a a few changes I made.

I started exercising with intention - I used to think I was winning by cheating the moves, but realised by doing that I was the one losing out. I now only drink when I’m out out, I exercise every day I can and I make sure there’s minimal fluff, faff and fluff involved. In fact it’s good if you can exercise at home ➡️ to see the garage my mate Gemma and I work out in with some weights. @thirdspacelondon it’s not!

Also thanks to @tashphotography and @aimeeadamsmakeup who made the shoot so much fun and not cringe-y. @aimeeadamsmakeup had worked with king of abs Peter Andre - and said he had some very specific instructions. On me it was pretty simple - she used a glowy body oil over my faux tan (goofproof @gatineau_skincare )

Full disclosure - I do have a wind sock of saggy tummy skin when I do a plank. Anyone else?

WELCOME TO MY HUMBLE ABODE..

Er I wish! Nope this is @retreatelcotpark and it is the perfect Christmassy hotel and makes you want to redecorate your entire house immediately. It’s part of @signet.collection which have a range of hotels that are quirky and cool but not eye wateringly expensive 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I’m wearing @nadinemerabi velvet tux and it is SHORT - so short I couldn’t raise my arms for fear of showing my knickers and necessitated black opaques. In an emergency situ had to ask bf to buy said tights which meant explaining a lot of new-to-him concepts like ‘denier’ and no ‘cycling short effect’ and don’t accidentally buy ‘barely black’ because nobody wants charcoal legs. Or maybe they do. 😂

Anyhow @retreatelcotpark has a brilliant spa with indoor heated jacuzzi/outdoor pool/hot tubs/cold plunges and treatments with gorgeous @bramleyproducts new skincare range.

I’ve also - in a reality check put my son’s filthy towel (I left him with a hand towel in Sept) as you seemed to feel (in equal parts) hilarity and nausea when I put on stories ➡️ swipe to see 😂

NO WAY STORM BRAM WAS STOPPING ME GETTING TO BABINGTON HOUSE (the trusty skip on wheels 🚗 made it thru and was definitely not driven to the door to be valet parked 😂)

Went on the annual @elizabetharden press trip where we learnt about new launches for 2026 and

1) Pretended like we live in a Georgian mansion with exquisite decs (no bog roll and cotton wool santas here)

2) Experienced the tablescaping of dreams and feasted on a Christmas dinner far superior to anything I could chef up (aka re heat).

3) Hung out with all the beauty eds - some I’ve known for 30 years! And some I’m loving getting to know. Some of the newer ones (aka have been in the industry decades) are younger than the shoes I’m wearing in shot one 😂)

4) @hannahvankoppenhagen with some mega mince pies - not the anaemic ones I have in my cupboard

5) ROOM OF DREAMS. Love the design so much - and the bedding was ☁️ like.

*Rachel’s husband left suddenly - only 5 months ago. He swears there has been no affair, but he’s now so cold and cruel it makes her question whether he is lying about this.

Rachel is doing all the ‘right’ things - keeping busy, focusing on herself and her children, but she’s asking how she can move on? How she can feel less ‘stuck’ and stop ruminating on what went wrong and which parts of their relationships were real?
