No this is not the world’s most glamorous nit nurs No this is not the world’s most glamorous nit nurse - it’s @anabel_kingsley - eminent trichologist @philip_kingsley (her dress is @boden btw).

I’ve never been to the W1 clinic before and it’s a serene place where they take all hair woes seriously.

@anabel_kingsley studied my scalp and asked lots of questions about my diet (pretty good), hair washing habits (less good) and styling (lots of heat = breakage).

She said the thinning was minimal but it was good I came in at this stage because it’s easiest to help then. She’s sending me for blood tests but thinks she will probably prescribe low dose minoxidil. She thinks the cause is mainly age related as hair can shrink in diameter as we clock up birthdays. It’s usual to see it in this area.

Then I had the most heavenly treatment involving steaming/massage/lots of products. My scalp feels reborn.

I now understand all the little things - good brush, regular hair washing, heat protection - add up to good hair 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Will let you know how I get on with the minoxidil in a three months.

Ask me any questions below ⬇️

🙏🏻 @unturnedagency for arranging
WHEN LIFE COMES FULL CIRCLE! Here’s my daughter WHEN LIFE COMES FULL CIRCLE!

Here’s my daughter shooting for @spotsandstripes - a skin care brand for teens and tweens created by my old boss @charlotte_annefidler . V proud!

@charlotte_annefidler was the beauty director @elleuk in the 90’s and her shoots were always incredible. I was her assistant - in charge of getting all the outfits (pieces!) from the designers and booking some of the travel (😳). (No 42 from Gucci! Hat from @philiptreacy! Plane from Barbados to Bequia! (I had never been to Caribbean so had zero clue what I was doing).

We went to NY, LA, Paris, Milan - often shared a room. On slide 2 we are shooting with @catherinezetajones and those are @dolcegabbana belts which I practically had to sell a kidney for. On second slide we are in NY and that is my very unchic lime green case which I bought because it was a) on sale and b) lime green so unlikely to get nicked. The third slide we are in the fashion cupboard which was magnificent (full of ah-mazing clothes) and also awful (no daylight).

Feel very greatful to have those memories!

@charlotte_annefidler has also been through a very tough marriage break up and has battled through and created this amazing brand. The shoot was to launch its anti blemish gel. Which sounds excellent (I’ll put link in my bio).

Shout with any of your 90’s memories…😘

Tears shed? A lot.

But I’m so happy that’s she’s made it - through her own hard work, drive and resilience and help from many people in her life.

I feel like the bird in the nest watching their chick flap off and PRAYING TO GOD they fly. She will I’m sure of it.

But who will correct my Gen X cringe chat? Talk to me at 11pm about really pressing issues? Tell me the real truth about those jeans I’ve bought. Educate me on vegetarianism/tik tok/Kardashian tea?

Is this you? Has this been you? Love to know your thoughts and please God your advice!
🙋🏻‍♀️if this resonates. Sometimes it’s not the pe 🙋🏻‍♀️if this resonates.

Sometimes it’s not the person we miss in a break up it’s the security. Or maybe you miss them and you miss the security. It can be hard to unpick.

What are your thoughts? Please tell me ⬇️

Post marriage split I felt untethered. Alone. I hated not having that special person - you know that ‘next of kin’, ‘contact in case of emergency’, ‘plus one’ pick-me-up-from hospital - person.*

I was desperate to get that feeling of security back. And whilst this angst was happening in my mind I felt it in my body - racing heart, shaking hands, high anxiety.

After a while I realised much of the pain I felt in my 💔 was not about losing my ex but more about losing my security blanket, my rock. I realised that I needed to find strength in myself and to really change my mindset so I didn’t put my self worth in some else’s hands again.

I also learnt (the hard way) you can’t force someone to love you.

I’ve found @amirlevine_md new book Secure so illuminating - it showed me how I can sometimes self sabotage and how to have better, stronger relationships by having more belief in yourself.

*In the end I realised I had lots of people prepared to take on those special person roles and to you all - you know who you are - I’m eternally grateful. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
